Companies involved in the giveaway celebration event include:

2) Forum Expansion
Since our last newsletter we have added a forum for supporting Symantec's Norton AntiVirus program. It can be found here: http://computercops.biz/forum80.html.

3) Staff Growth
With the addition of the new forum, we have also expanded our staff: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Forums&file=groupcp&g=30.

All staff links have been aggregated into a single user friendly viewable page: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Forums&file=staff.

4) Statistics
During the last month we have added over 10,000 new registered users bringing it to more than 41,000 total members. Our daily statistics (http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Statistics&op=Stats) have seen a great milestone. On March 17 Computer Cops broke the 200,000 page views for a single day with a total of 205,268 hits. On that same day, the total hits for 2004 exceeded 2003's total hits. We are on par to obtaining 4.5 million page hits in March 2004. This weekend also brought the total hits for 2004 past 10 million. At current rates, we project a minimum of 45 million hits for all of 2004.

5) Downloads
A new notification service has been created to highlight 'Bonus Downloads', which is updated weekly. To access an archive of these bonus downloads visit here: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=6. In addition, a list of our most recently added downloads can be accessed here: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=My_Downloads.

6) Find a Cure!
Join Team Computer Cops in finding a cure to many of the diseases that ail society using a distributed computing program developed by Stanford University. Such include AIDS and Cancer. http://computercops.biz/HijackThis.html
http://computercops.biz/Proxomitron.html

Journals
We have started up a forum where users may start and maintain their Journals: http://computercops.biz/forum79.html.

9) File Attachments
The forum has been upgraded to allow attachments to be posted. These attachments are not anti-virus scanned, so take caution when downloading any attachments.

10) New User?
If you are a new user to the online world, or do not know where to post your comments or questions in our forums, then feel free to drop by our new user forum here: http://computercops.biz/forum71.html. It is a place that any question or comment is welcome.

11) HijackThis Forum
The two HijackThis forums have been merged into one since the last newsletter. It is found easily here: http://computercops.biz/forum67.html.

12) Folk Chat
Care to chat with people in realtime? Visit our registered user chat module here: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=RegChat. It is a Java applet based technology.

13) Account Maintenance
Lost your password? Go here: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=pass_lost and follow the two step recovery process. 1) Enter your username in the Nickname field and click Send Password. The first of two emails will be sent containing a 'Confirmation Code'. 2) Go back to the link above and re-enter your Nickname, along with the Confirmation Code then Send Password. A second email will be delivered to you containing your new password. This is to ensure that you own your email address.

14) Anti-Virus Survey
Which one do you use? Vote in our survey that has over 7,000 results so far here: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Surveys&pollID=24. Currently, NAV is first, AVG is second, and McAfee is third.

15) Vacation Messages -- BEWARE!
In sending out our newsletters to a near 12,000 subscribers we noticed that some vacation messages contain information that could be used to facilitate social engineering. For instance persons names and telephone numbers are given, including dates that folks are 'out of the office' or 'on a trip'. To understand just what problems this can cause read here: http://computercops.biz/article1940.html.

16) Wireless - PalmToGo
An AvantGo-like module has been added (http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=AvantGo) so that news articles can now be accessed in a wireless fashion. We've also tested access to the site-at-large via the Blackberry 7230 and the Sidekick. We're pleased to say that it all looks very nice!

17) Print Forum Threads
We have added the capability to print forum threads that fit your printer page easily. Each thread has a print button so make sure to use it.

1 Shorter URLs
To help keep margin widths in our forums friendly all URLs are now parsed and made to display shorter. This does not alter the actual URL link in any way.

19) Extra FYI
ComputerCops.biz is owned by Computer Cops, LLC. Also in the LLC portfolio exists http://NukeCops.com and http://TeamHelix.net. Nuke Cops is another successful web site focusing on the official development and enhancement of open source GNU GPL content management systems such as PHP-Nuke. Both Nuke Cops and Team Helix have their own teams to Find a Cure! Join the Computer Cops team today!

20) Congratulations!
http://computercops.biz/postt2483.html Everyone deserves a round of applause. It is because of all our members that makes Computer Cops the place to be for online security.

21) Suggestions?
Please feel free to drop by the 'Site Inbox' forum here: http://computercops.biz/forum8.html and share them with the team to help improve our services.

22) Wish List
We're currently working on a few new things to make Computer Cops more user-friendly and tangible:
- Favorite Forums List
- Computer Cops Branded Clothing
- Port Scanning Enhancements
- Default Theme Makeover

23) Site Tip #1
Everyone seems to have an avatar under their name in the forums. Well, if you wanted to select one for yourself, visit our Gallery which has thousands of images to choose from: http://computercops.biz/modules.php?name=Forums&file=profile&mode=editprofile. Scroll down in that link to the Avatar Control Panel and click the Show gallery button to bring up a new window. If you do not like any of the supplied images, then you can easily upload your own by clicking the Browse button and finding your special image on your PC. Dimensions are limited to 65 by 65 pixels. Its size can be no bigger than 6 kB.

24) Site Tip #2
So the time seems to be off in the forums? Go into the link supplied in Site Tip #1 and under the Timezone section, select the option that fits your locale. Then submit your settings to have an immediate effect.

Thank you,
Paul Laudanski, Founder & Member
