Comcast took steps against SPAMMERS last week to block off port 25, an email port, against some of its customers which has seen a 25% reduction of outbound email since last Tuesday.
Senderbase calculates in the last 24 hour period a total volume of 889.5 million emails came from the Comcast.net domain (a high-speed cable Internet service Comcast provides to its cusomters in the United States).
Certainly blocking port 25 for all its customers would not be a good thing because there exist customers who use outbound email for valid purposes. Can't let a few bad apples spoil the whole farm eh? Good for Comcast, block the SPAMMERS directly.
