I have a similiar problem while ago. You can try this, but it is only a suggestion and I have know real authority nor knowledge to back what I say.
My problem was that I got a new computer with windows xp home edition. Then I got, through a college, windows xp professional. That was when virtual memory became a problem. So i went to a computer store, told the guy my situation, and he told me that windows xp professional takes up about 256 RAM and that was all my computer had, so other programs were out of luck. The solution was to increase my RAM, which I did, and now I have no more virtual memory problems. Remeber, this is just what I did. Look for other responses to you question not just mine.
Wink

Good article in easy to understand terms: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expe...june16.asp

Quote from the article that I highly suggest you adhere to: "If your computer has less than 512 MB of RAM, you should leave the page file sizes as is."
