Hey Ikeb, Denn and everbody. Someone nicked my cowboy nick, so I'm cowboy se now.
I've got another fun problem now. My mailwasher considers all mails that is not in the friends list or doesn't trigger a filter to be an address that is present in the blacklist.
It immediately auto deletes the mail, blacklists the address, and then lists the blacklisting as the reason for the deletion!
Not only that, but it does so even though the blacklist has been cleared and auto deletion of blacklisted mails is unchecked!
I always have to check what the stupid program has deleted or I lose a lot of valuable mail. |

Hey cowboy! Sorry about the identity crisis.
And your auto-deletion problem is even a sorrier mess. How long has this been going on? You have tried disabling the Blacklist Spam Tool completely to debug this?
I would disable all Spam Tools and start enabling them until the problem reappears.
BTW, what version are you running?

Ok, I just cleared the blacklist again, unchecked "mark for deletion" in the blacklist tool and restored a message from computercops.
Same thing. computercops is blacklisted without being in the blacklist. |

HI
What is the status in the column...does it say just Blacklisted or does it say Blacklisted by .........?
Have you enabled the DNS spam blacklist servers?
Do you have any filters which you have ticked for blacklisting and auto delete?
did you try doing what Ikeb said and disable all spam tools and then re-enable one by one? |

Status column says "BlackList".
I have lots of auto delet/blacklist filters but none of my filters have "BlackList" as description.
DNS is enabled but not on auto. I just turned it off completely and it made no difference.
(I'll keep it off because I never get hits on it anyway since my filters hit 100% of of the spam I get)
I've turned off everything except filters. I'd love an override button for those.
I don't feel like turning all my filters off and creating disorder in them unless I really have to. I have lots of filters.
I've checked every last one though, and not one of them has a status description that contains the word "BlackList".
The mails that are deleted in the described fashion all come up as "blacklisted" in the Junk Mail statistics. |

The problem has been going on since before I updated to v4.
I'm not sure when it started. I know I lost some mail like this way before I noticed there was a problem. |

Just a quick update.
I've found the problem. I managed to make a silly mistake in a filter which hit on my own email address. Naturally nothing was left untouched.
The problem is that the program does not report filter hits correctly but sometimes (not sure of the frequency) reports them as hits by the blacklist, therefore it took some effort to find the error I made.
So now we're just waiting for an update. This is the second time I've pointed out a problem that requires an update. They should pay me! |
