AIM.EXE encounters problem and needs to close. Please help!

I turn on my computer, and after recieving the usual msmsgs.exe error, i go to turn on the internet (AOL). When I go to open AOL instant messenger, I get a message saying:

AOL Instant Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

...So I click on it, to see this:

...This all started a couple weeks ago, when I started getting msmsgs.exe problems. Also, when it first started, I could eventually get into aim. Now it seems that it's worse, because I can't get into it at all.
