It won't be easy... Calgary lost a good defenseman too (foot injury). They have to get that power play going. It's been in a stall lately, and Iginla has got to start producing again, or the cup will stay in Tampa when its all over. |

That is for sure, best one I've seen in awhile. Both these teams match up so well. |

Well, they lost it thanks to a bad penalty call by a ref who wanted to be the star of the series. Too bad because it was one of the best Stanley Cup finals I have ever seen up to that point.
Oh well, it is nice to see a team who has never won it, win it. That hasn't happened in awhile! |

That's true. A good playoff year comes to an end; hopefully there won't be a work stoppage this year... I don't think the sport of hockey could take it. This series was awesome and yet it was one of the least watched. Hopefully the owners and players realize much more is at stake than money, the very sport of hockey could be severely damaged by a stoppage.
I'm not too upset with Tampa winning; it goes to show you that hockey has a lot to do with chemistry, Calgary vs. Tampa? Who would have thought? What a great year! |

Deffinately an unlikely combo that delt great entertainment. Neither team was expected to do anything at the start of the season, Calgary wasn't even apose to make the playoff, and Tampa with the best regular season? Wasn't even given a long shot of that happening. Both teams delt their surprises this year.

In Canada this series was actually one of the most watch, on average 3.3 million viewers, that's about 10% of the population! Unfortunately, Hockey is a forth rate sport in the us, well behind the more popular baseball, football, and basketball. I Don't see that changing anytime soon and you're right, a stopage will make that even worse. I don't think it will affect it much in Canada though, after all we don't do much up hear but drink beer, eat donuts, and watch hockey (a few even play!) LOL
But there are a few happy Canadians at the outcome of the cup last night. There are several thousand that live in the florida area for half the year. I know 2 that called me to rub in 'their' victory! LOL
So here's to Tampa
