Hi stengels,

The freeware version of getright.exe is/was spyware. The registered version isn't if you don't have the registered version, uninstall the Aureate/Radiate software. Available via Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs
FYI:
http://www.getright.com/aureate.html

Close all browser windows. Check the following HJT entries and hit FIX:

Hi stengels,

Please go here and run this quickcheck pest detector
http://aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm

Telll me what it says.

The toolbar looks pretty miniscule in the photo, can't see any detail at all, but the cars look pretty good tho. Are those old Mustangs?

I still have to look at your Hijack log carefully, I haven't done that yet I'll post back about that later.

In the meantime, go thru your 016 entries and delete anything you don't need or recognize. If you do need something, you will be prompted to re-download it. Definitely leave the macromedia and Microsoft entries tho.

Your browser has been checked for parasites. None were found. (However, new parasites are being created all the time. It is always possible you have a parasite we are not yet equipped to detect.)

that's what it says.

the cars are mustangs indeed. but there is one old en one new (2005, not yet available)

if you click the picture you get a pop up whit the full screen version. the pic is 1024*768. must be good enough.

Hi stengels,

Close all browser windows. Check and let HJT fix this entry:
O16 - DPF: {75D1F3B2-2A21-11D7-97B9-0010DC2A6243} (SecureLogin.SecureControl) - http://secure2.comned.com/signuptemplat...curity.cab

That's about all I see left remaining in your log to fix.

At the very minimum, you should install a firewall and a preventative spyware program.

I suggest you Download and install-
SpywareBlaster to prevent reinfection:
It will block bad ActiveX and harmful cookies. Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

You can download an excellent free firewall here:
http://www.zonealarm.com

You should continue to keep your O/S and IE up-to-date by installing all security patches and windows updates on a regular basis.

Here is an excellent source for tips to tighten security. Follow the advice and get the free downloads to help avoid some of these problems in the future be found here:

Thanks for the car pix. The new Mustang is a beauty and the old one, ancient but a classic nonetheless.
