Hello. Can someone please tell me how I canstop this "Messenger service from popping up on my desktop. It is for all different advertisements. It just started happening (there it goes again).
Please help. Thanks.

In XP click start control panel administrative tools services scroll down to messenger and select stop service then right click messenger and click properties select disable from the drop menu.
there is a site that explains all the services and what they do at the following

you can also download a file over at grc.com which will disable it for you...
