Good movie. But here's some interesting facts about the Christ i'll bet you didn't know (or maybe you did).
1. He was a man in every sense of the word. (drank booze, had sex, had children, made many mistakes ect...)
2. He was human not God. No more divine than you or i.
3. The Bibles interpretation of him is wrong. (he was made into a 'designer savior' by the early church)
4. He did not die on the cross.
5. He did not die for our so-called sins.
6. He was only here to teach a way to live a more spiritually balanced life, NOT start a 'man-made' religion. He never would have wanted a religion started in his name.
7. You will NOT goto Hell for not believing in him or not being so-called 'born again' as the Christians teach. In fact there is no place called Hell as the Bible describes it. |

Someone needs to read their Bible.

I quite agree Mrs. Hoppes...
I remember in my early heathen years, saying to my Christian mother-in-law..."Well Jesus most certainly did too sin...He had sex with Mary Magdaline"...Her teeth wobbled, and nearly fell out of her mouth...Of course she set me straight...
About 10 years later I started reading the Bible...I haven't put it down since. |

Well, Thank you ladies for your good intentions. But read my Bible- why?
The thing i like the best is someday these things will be proven and the Bible will be viewed as the inaccurate document that it truly is.
Though i do not feel the entire Bible is worthless, just that much of it is inaccurate and full of old stories(particularly the old testament). If it has value to you then read on. But please consider that not all people agree on its complete authenticity and accuracy, when posting responses in the future.
You have every right to accept or deny anything i post here and i would certainly not ever try to force my opinions or beliefs on anyone. Can you say the same?
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them (Matthew 7:12) |

Now Shamash...did you truly expect any other type of response toward your rabble-rousing statements about Christ???
I apologize for offending you. Please document your findings.

Was not offended by your comments. That's the problem with these boards you can't express yourself as in the real world. I was merely responding to your comments. It would take alot more than that to offend me.
As for proof- the burden of proof lies with you if you wish to accept such statements about Christ. I am not here to provide such things. Merely to provide information. If you wish to accept, then do so, if not- do not. That's all i can say at this point. |

My opinion......the movie was unnecessarily violent. And for anyone with even a smattering of knowledge about christianity, it didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. The type of gratuitous violence depicted in the movie was very common in those barbarous times....however placing it in a religious setting with Jesus as the primary sufferer will simply serve Gibson's primary intention....that of extracting sympathy from the christian masses, who will no doubt be reinvigorated with the tragedy of how badly Jesus suffered on the cross, which is clearly proof that he died for our sins, etc.
In reality however, the pain suffered by Jesus was consistent with the cruelty of the times and it's likely he suffered no more than thousands of others who shared his fate. He was a local politician who fell foul of those in power.....but his story has since been re-worked and glorified in a way that would make Bill Clinton's and George W. Bush's spin doctors proud! |

Interesting ideas guys. What are your sources. I do not remember seeing any historical document with this information about Jesus in them. Christians have some old documents to support the supposition that Jesus is God and that he really lived a sinless life.
I really would like to know where you get your information. I will look for it here if you do not mind.
Thanks

I'd be interested in knowing what those old documents are. I'm assuming you're not referring to the bible.
