I had the same casprog (casino program) and called my Compaq computer support number. I had to start in Safe Mode and did Run msconfig and start up and unchecked everything except Systray and Scan Registry. Then I rebooted. It unlocked the system, but it froze again a minute later. Then I had to press F10 and then F9 (when the first screen came on) to set the defaults and then exit from the bios. When I rebooted this time, everything was clear. I was given a list of things to check that are necessary for startup and many that are no longer needed. One of the boxes that was unchecked was causing all of the problems every time the computer started up. Not sure exactly which one. So far everything looks good. Hope this helps someone.

I wrote the previous email. What I wrote worked for a day and then everything happened all over again. I called the 1 - 800 number given previously on this site and they told me what to do -also given on this site "remove.monsterserve.com/remove/toolbar/index.html" and that worked. Thanks everyone!

Install Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and have it clean your system. You should also delete \winnt\system32\uinst_cp.exe.
There were some other files that I had to delete from my \WINNT directory, but I don't remember the names. If you go to winnt and sort by date you will see the newest files. I think there was a .TXT, a .EXE, and a .DLL with the same date that were suspicious.

What I would like to know is how this garbage got on my computer. I think it happened while I was reading about sendmail. We are evaluating the Cisco Security Agent, but I did not have it installed soon enough. It has helped in finding things that were up to no good.

Hi there,
I am amazed at this very useful website! - I recently found CasProg, didn't recognise it, and proceeded to remove it using the Remove/Change option. I got the 'successfully uninstalled' message & subsequent errors, and then thought I had got rid of an essential DOS programme!! I then looked up CasProg on the internet and found this website, which made me feel better!

The method I used to overcome this problem was to do 'System Restore' (I have Windows XP). I used a restore point prior to the date I picked up CasProg. What do you guys think of this?

If I ever meet anyone from Casino, I'll sterilise them with a rusty knife!

Thanks for all this info in your forum guys, I'm a member at another forum where somebody posted a video, and a lot of the people who d/l'ed the video got this casprog stuff installed on their system (me included)

so I'm not sure if this spyware is spreading like a virus as well. If so, that makes it illegal does it not?

anyways, thanks again, alot of people appreciate this thread Smile

Hi
If anyone has some problems that are somewhat minor, try this.
Go to http://www.noadware.net/ and install the program called noadware.
Let it scan your PC and it will creat a list of dangerous, severe, and some ok programs. They tell you if they are ok. They also tell you where those folders are. If you know how to trace things on your PC through the way they tell you, you can get rid of some of them. Other's may be in use and that's when you have to use HiJackThis.[/u][/i]

I'm extremely upset about this malware that somehow ended up on my computer. I spend many hours a day in Adobe Photoshop, and today, I lost 6-7 hours desperately trying to figure out the problem. I have deadlines Sad

When I open photoshop, (despite several reinstalls) it opens, shows the opening screne and goes through the loading process and when that comes to an end, the app just disappears as if I never opened it in the first place!

This problem manifested after i noticed the casprog uninstall successful message this morning. I have done everything short of going into the registry and finding it. Can someone help me??? Please ?!?! Shocked

I even phoned up the damn casino co. and that was no help. To me, this problem is very severe, and may cost a lot if I bring in a tech guy.

Oh, and here is a funny screen grab I got a while ago. I found it to be quite idiotic.

thanks anyone who can help!!!!!!!!!

Is there any sort of legislation making this kind of thing illegal? I mean, it's illegal for some moron to come to my house and set up a huge billboard with blinking flood lights on the front lawn just outside my window while I'm busy sleeping...

So, what the hell?

If there ISN'T, I think we should work together to find the people who designed and initially distributed this junk, track them down like rabid animals, and LYNCH THEM!

Hello Everyone:

The way I got rid of all the mallicious files is by using Ad-aware. At first I was using a dated version of ad-aware (I think it was 5.83) but then I upgraded to AD-AWARE 6.0 PERSONAL. I then proceeded to download any upgrades that AD-AWARE needed. Download it here safetly from http://download.com.com/3001-8022-10214379.html

1. There are three scans that can be done I did all three scans and customized the scans to scan everything. It found hundred of files and I proceeded to delete them all for every scan I did. (The scans do take awhile.)

2. Restart your computer after every scan.

3. This method got rid of everything such as bridge, optomizer, etc. The only thing that was left was casprog. I got rid of this by going to SEARCH (for files and folders) in the START menu. I searched for ( uinst ) , what I was looking for was uinst_cp.exe. When I found the correct file I deleted it.

NOTICE THAT IT DISGUISES ITSELF BY THE INCORRECT SPELLING BY SWITHTING AROUND THE (I) AND (N) SO AS TO NOT SPELL UNIST.

After I deleted it I ran ADD/REMOVE programs and tried to uninstall CASPROG and windows just deleted it from the list.

Some other suggestions that might help, and I also did was to search for (blaze) to get blaze_find. I deleted this aswell. I searched for other words as well such as: golden, palace, gp, optimizer, bridge, casprog, etc. If I found anything that remotely looked like it was associated with GOLDEN PALACE I deleted it.

To delete bridge.dll you will have to turn on the computer in safemode and use the SEARCH & DELETE method above.

This is what I did and it worked form me. I'm sure it will work for others. If this does work for somebody else, make a post and let others know.
