So I agree to help a buddy with his puter and run an anti-virus (AVG) and it flags eleven (11) trojans! I use the remove device in AVG and it can't remove them. So undaunted I download several trojan hunt & fix programs and they don't flag any of the trojans. Using find file and eidting the registry had some success but AVG still flags eight ( of them. They are, in no particular order. . . Downloader Stubby (2 variations); Dyfica (2 variations) and of course SecThought (in seven different locations!)
Yikes! Do I believe AVG or the Trojan specific programs. HELP!!!

Sometimes Antivirus Companies name things that are not Trojans as Trojans, when they are what Symantec Calls a Blended Threat. |

Whether they're Trojans or not, try running the AVG scan in safe mode. AVG may then be able to heal them. Worked for me! |
