Let me ask you, what happens when to try those scan links? What loads up? Any errors? Does it show your correct IP address?

Yes, I rechecked to see if it is my IP , and it is. here is the reply:
Your authorization was not supplied, or network is currently congested.
You must allow referer to work! The key to get this started is the refered URL:
http://www.computercops.biz/modules.php?name=TCP_Scanner
Authorize Computer Cops to probe your system via the TCP Port Scanner from this page. |

And you are of course at that link when you try issuing the scan correct? And you get the error page? Ensure that your firewall or browser is allowing the referrer to be passed. In other words, the site needs to see that you came from that page in order to scan you.

how do I do this please, do I turn off my firewall? I have a router Lynksis, and Norton System works, and BlackIce all installed.
Oh, and Zone alarm. I get no warnings from any of them asking for permissions, like I usually get when a program is asking to be used. Just the page I sent you from your site. Thank you for your help by the way.

Hi Greg, in any of the above minus Linksys, do you see any options for privacy settings?

OK, Zone Alarm does, but the settings are to allow Cookies. The BlackIce is set to block all unsolicted incoming traffic. And Norton is set to auto block scripts. Does any of these stop the service you provide here? |

Well if its just cookies then no to zone alarm. My money is on Norton since others have fallen prey to this. Look for referral information.

Ok, show me the link you are using to the port scanner. And then which link from there you are trying to initiate.

I am interested in performing a port scan also, and using Norton, I am having simiar problems. Turning off Norton Firewall concerns me since I am being hit non stop with unsolicited hook up attempts from the internet. Is that safe to do? |
