A program called bridge.exe located in my windows/temp file has recently started trying to access the internet. I have deleted it and it shows back up a few days later. I blocked it with zone alarm. It tries to loopback for the destination IP. Norton doesn't recognize it as a virus. Ad-aware doesn't catch it either. Any idea what it is or what program creates it?
Thanks.

Hello rj45,

Lets take a closer look. Do the following:

Download Hijack This

Go to http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Save your log and post back to this forum for futher review.

Good Luck!

You will need to install Visual Basic. Get it here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/...BRun60.exe

got the log, posted below. I should also add that whn zone alarm cleaned the cache, bridge.exe is gone again, but it has been gone before and come back a few days later. the only file left with bridge showing is bridge.lgc. Bridge is also in the list of programs in the settings that can be uninstalled, but when I try this, it doesn't go away.

Ok, I found out that bridge was part of winfavorites adware, followed instructions in symantec and got rid of it and bridge (i think). I ran a new hijack this log follows, looks about the same. Anyone know what needs to go?

Hello Rj45,

First go to computercops.biz downloads and download CWSredder. Run it and let it fix anything it finds. Reboot, run HJT again and post another log to do the rest manually.

All the best!
