Laughing Hi all.
Everybody says there is a God. I respect them for their view but in the 21st century we need to start looking at the "big picture". God may or may not be real, that we may never know, but we must start looking after our planet because the way its going right now, Earth might resemble somthing like mars in a hundred years or so. So, c'mon guys and lets make a difference. Shocked

Even if its just putting rubbish in a bin. Laughing

Jesus said to a woman in the presence of many witnesses;
woman your faith has saved you,your sins are forgiven,go in peace.
faith in the unseen is what will make the difference.
if you dont believe and you wish to test this then just say a prayer , but be careful; HE may answer you and then what are yoy going to do?
the LORD JESUS said what so ever you ask the FATHER in my name;
so ask like this;
FATHER, in the name of JESUS,

then make your petition explicit and expect an answer.

like Dr. NEAL FRANKS who used to be the director of the hurricane prediction center in florida during the 70's and early 80"s,
he spoke at a billy graham crusade about an experience he had that snapped him to attention between his ears.
being a Phd. meteorologist he considered himself to pretty bright, so he took it upon himself to read the bible so that he could prove that it was not the word of god.

as he was doing this he had difficulty understanding what he was reading and at one oint was very frustrated and put the bible down and said a prayer "GOD help me to understand this bible so i can debunk this, or something to that effect.
he went to work and came home and when he returned to the study so he could continue he discovered that someone had messed with his bible while he was gone.
he explained that suddenly he found that his eyes had been opened to the word of god and he could understand what he was reading and realized that GOD had answered his prayer.
the billy graham evangelistic association has the tape on file.

If God DOES infact exist don't you think he would want us to make decisions for ourselves and to be independant?

As Robert Green Ingersoll said,
If a man would follow, today, the teachings of the Old Testament, he would be a criminal. If he would follow strictly the teachings of the New, he would be insane.

Mars. The most Roman of the gods, second only to ol' Jupiter himself. Originally an agriculteral deity, he changed with the times and the Roman people into a god of war of a warring nation. Worked out OK for awhile, then with the decline of Rome came the slow fade into mythology, the fate of all gods eventually. Unfortunately humanity invents new gods to replace the old, never seeming to get the hint. We really should find a way to increase the rate of attrition before our fate becomes that of either of the Mars'. Desolation or Mythology.

right on, TMOV...the truth shall set you free.

Cuc ... did you have a similar upbringin as Pat...brought up with religion in a decent caring home only to become disallusioned and then fall from grace & deviate from the Godly path? Or was your path to darkness a different one?

Cuc...what is the point in a universe with no God? No devil? No good or evil?

I will pray about praying for a way to pray for you...

Boo rad,
I see your point, you cannot live without good or evil, or God. I suppose it gives you a reason to live in a world without none.
I believe in good and evil as we see it every day in our lives, at work and at home.If God does exist then,as you say, he will find me in his own way. But until that time comes God as a being or creator means little to me.
As for my path to "darkness", What do you consider to be darkness? Islam believes in fighting for Allah(God) and to die for Him if they have to. THAT, you would consider as a dark path, killing many people because they don't believe in what you believe and that, is a very small minded way of looking at the world. There are other points of view than christanity, they say that their views are correct,and so do you. I would only believe if I had a good reason to do so.
God, if he exists, would have no reason to frown upon me. Everything inlife i have done i have done with good intention and I regret deeply the things i have done that are bad.

Why does everyone always assume God is male?

let us make man in our own image and likeness;
then they made man.

then they found out that among the animals there was no suitable companion for Adam so they put him to sleep and made a woman out of his rib.
there was both the male and female genetic code in the man's genes.
but when woman was made there was only the genetic code for a female.
man's genetic code is XY
woman's genetic code is XX.

how interesting you say,
yes it is!

You might be interested to know that in the real world we all begin as female.

At a certain point during gestation there are some chemical changes at which time, if the genetic instructions require it, the female genitalia begins to change and reshape and grow into male genitalia. And thus, there is utterly incontrovertible proof that the female predates the male by some several weeks. At least, she does in the real world.

I know it's just the opinion of a goofball believer in science, reproducible phenomena, and so on, but it seems to me that if we all start out as female it kind of throws a bit of a kibosh on the Adam came first fairy tale.

So here's the big question: If Adam came first why isn't this order of creation followed in the womb?

i dont think you get it.
man.... genetic code for sexual identity is XY

WOMAN....."""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" XX

YOU CANNOT MAKE A MAN OUT OF ONLY FEMALE GAMETES.
YOU CAN MAKE BOTH MAN AND WOMAN OUT OF MALE GAMETES.

Sorry fellas, but you're acting, or at any rate speaking, like complete buffoons. If you do just a small amount of research into the genetic processes of conception, gestation, and so on, you will see that what I am saying is fact. We all begin as females, or predominantly nebulous, then stuff happens (I'm not a scientist) and we go one way or the other.

If you wish to act like twats, by all means do, it's no skin of my bulbous nose. But if you would like to to sound like the intelligent adults you think you are, then please do a little research into current genetics, gestation processes, etc., before you embarrass yourselves.

Yes, there is some debate about the issue, but if the naysayers are correct then it is as ludicrous to say we begin as males as it would be to say we begin as females.

Bottom line is the Adam story is just plain silly.

Cheers fells.
