Whew.... time for a nice cold Killians Red. I just loaded 800 pounds of topsoil into my truck, brought it home, unloaded it, and then proceeded to distribute it into all the holes my 4-legged kids have managed to dig this winter.... and when I was done, I realized I only caught about half of them. Another 800 pounds????? Not until I've had another beer... *lol*

Bartender! Another round for all, please!!!!

Almost forgot about Black Label (or Red Label).....

Had a bit too much of it the last time I was in England, and I've limited myself to just two choices ever since..... Killians Red, or Tequila.

The tequila depends on how much politics I have to deal with on any given week..... maybe sooner if I have to visit that odd-shaped building in the Northern Virginia Crystal City area (seems like once a month lately).

Hi Karay

Not into red or dark beers but if you have something light, hey, I'm in.

Lets see... you are from the USA, so I don't have to worry about buying you a yellow beer (long story behind that, involving the British Military and a visit I had at RAF Fairford).

Bartender! Please give taz71498 a Michelob, and put it on my tab!

Most that I know are in a different time zone.

Darts huh? Haven't played in years.

I'm watching Fear Factor right now and they are eating Potato bugs, pretty gross.

So, what brought you here to CCPS?

Fear Factor? Oh, I remember that one.... sort of like activities to the extreme? I'd get worn out just watching.... *lol*

I found this site when I was having problems with Spyware, and one of the great people on CCPS gave me some advice. Then I found the Tavern and realized that after a long day dealing with technology and politics, it was nice to come here and just relax.... besides, if I don't look busy at the computer, my other half would haul me outside to work on the yard, or maybe washm dry, and groom dogs.... something that takes about a half-day per canine. And we have 13 of them at the moment. *lol*

How about you? What brought you to this cheery little place?

Same thing as you almost. A friend had a problem, that brought me here and I have been here ever since.

13 dogs!! Wow!

I only have 2 but is more than enough for me. They are both looking at me right now wondering why I am not on the sofa with them. They like to cuddle.

What kind are your 13?

When I'm not at work, I try to leave technology at the office (except for my time on the computer, which is generally not all that technical.... more like maintaining my websites and answering mail). So with that said, this won't sound as odd, coming from an engineer.....

We have 6 Samoyeds of our own; some are showdogs, but all are family pets. Well, actually they think WE belong to THEM.... but I'm sure you know what that's like, having 2 of your own. Smile

We also handle Samoyed Rescue for Ohio (http://www.cosr.org), along with our sister program. We have several in various stages of retraining and rehabilitation. Cases needing intense therapy stay with us. Those which don't go to the kennel, located on a farm with all kinds of animals, including 5 horses which think they are the reason we all exist.

Colorful background, huh! *lol*

Wow, that is great that you take rescue dogs! I love dogs and wish I could help with rescue's.

I rent a duplex though and my landlords are great letting me have the two that I have. Some day when mine pass on I will get a rescue.

I have two dob's., a cat, a frog and my son has a ball python.

Dobes are nice dogs! Unfortunately, Insurance companies here in Ohio have gotten a bit too restrictive, and along with Pitt Bulls, homeowners with several other breeds are finding it difficult to get reasonable rates if they own any on the restricted list, including Dobes. Sad really... I think canines really reflect the treatment they've received.... sort of like kids are generally a mirror of their parents. So far though, only Pitt Bulls are actually banned in some cities here.... other breeds just make the rates higher.

Sometimes I feel like I'm back in England, with a tax or fee for just about everything.

Yeah I understand. Actually I had no problem getting renters insurance. Dobs have gotten a bad rap in the past but according to the insurance companys I have checked with that they are not on the list. I am sure they are on some lists.

I agree with you, dogs are what we make them. No socialization alone can be a huge problem. My younger one can be a problem with young kids. He has not been around them much at all, so I don't trust him around them. But he is a bit skittish, scared of things, because of that I have to watch him close around people. He hasn't bitten anyone, he will run from them first, but if cornered or startled, he might.

Well, hey, its been nice having a drink with you. I need to get going, have to get ready for bed. Work early, not used to the time change yet.

And by the way, hey neighbor, I'm in Wisconsin.

Oh yeah, I forgot, stop in the thread Ten Green Bottles....

It is probably the longest running thread.
