Hi
I have Zone Alarm Pro, Spy Sweeper and Norton Anti Virus. A few days ago I received an alert from zonealarm saying that bridge.exe has been trying to access the internet so i blocked it. On the symantic site it says it is a virus but my antivirus prog doesnt detect it. Now everytime im on the net pop up appears from yell etc. #Also a toolbar was installed so i uninstalled it and the spysweeper comes up in detecting a program called n-case. I have tried to delete these using spysweeper but still comes back!!!
Any ideas what i should do??? |

please go to your add/remove programs in your control panel and uninstall bridge.
Please run Spybot Search & Destroy which can be found at http://security.kolla.de.
Fix all items it finds that are in red. Make sure it is updated or it won't catch everything.
Spybot S&D > Immunize > Recommended miscellaneous protections
Please dowload this tool:
www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/hjt.zip
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [SpyBotSnD] "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe" /autocheck
that entry RUNONCE meanse you need to restart,, if you uninstalled,, you are ok.. but ssd requires you to restart because it needs to run again and scan for anything it could not delete because it was in use... so as you restart is scans before anything goes into use again.. and it fixes it
then post another log,,, more to go

did you uninstall bridge?
Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = file://ATHLON/Website/WWW%20pages/UntitledFrameset-7.htm
F1 - win.ini: load=C:\TBridge\Flatbed.exe
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2} - C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ksqehphn] C:\WINDOWS\System32\avaglneh.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dyr] C:\WINDOWS\dyr.exe
Next make sure you have set all files / folders to show :
Here\'s How

ok, do me a favor and reboot again,, and rescan then post a new log,,, sometimes thie type of infection tends to return after a couple of reboots..
thanks
also..I would go to windows updates and install ALL critical updates. They are very important to have since they are vital to the health of your system and prevent many infections. It fixes a lot of bugs including security bugs. It can also prevent future catastrophes! People have no idea how many predators there are out there. It's a shame really.
