Greetings! I've got a few problems I'm really stumped on due to the cryptic nature of the forums code to a newcomer
Thing #1
I'm in the forum admin control panel under 'User Admin -> Permissions' and I'm trying to give a regular non-admin user moderator privs to a forum. I hit the drop-down menu and select 'Is moderator' then hit the 'Submit' button. I received an SQL error about the syntax but corrected that by putting some quotes in the VALUES () section of the SQL query.
However, even after fixing that problem, the user is never actually set as a moderator on the specified forums. I return to the Permissions page and look up the same user to see that all of the forums still say 'Not moderator' and the Forum index is showing No Moderators for the specific forums.
So I try to set the User Level: in the Permissions page to Administrator. This appears to have worked by the confirmation message, but returning to the Permissions page shows that the user's level is currently 'User' although he's showing up as an Admin on the forum user list (In yellow). I tried to set him back to regular 'User' but this didn't work. I had to go in and manually knock his 'level' field in the database down to 1 (from 2) which appears to have fixed the problem.
Any idea on this?
Thing #2
When getting emails from topic replies or new private messages, there are two links included with each mail. One to go directly to the post/private message, the other to unsubscribe. My site is located at http://btech-online.net/textcentral but the links say something like 'http://btech-online.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=27#27
' which isn't the correct address.
I'm pretty sure this is configuration related (since I don't know whether to include slashes at the beginning or end of each config directive) but I don't know which one Under board configuration, I have the following info entered:
Domain Name: btech-online.net
Script Path: textcentral/modules/Forums/
Any ideas? I've got a cheesy redirector up right now to handle this problem but I'd like to get it fixed I'm sure it's something simple.
Thanks in advance! |

Change the domain name to btech-online.net/textcentral
and the script path to /modules/forums/ |
