I have been having a problem with my PC freezing. At reboot it often gets stuck at loading up settings. I am in the other forums regarding virus, spyware ect. However, I have noticed that when this happens the Event Viewer lists under Application Log
Error VSS
or
Error True Vector Service 5007
There is nothing in the Event Viewer under Security Log.
My Zone Alarm settings are getting changed also. My cookie and Ad Blocking setting will be lowered and all my permissions are set to ask.
I recently uninstalled Zone Alarm Pro and reinstalled it. It is up to date.
Thank you for any help. |

The reason for that is because anytime ZA terminates abnormally the settings database gets corrupted. During reboot it recreates them from the backup set. To make sure your problem isn't ZA, right click on the icon in the system tray and select shutdown, then wait 2 minutes and reboot windows. Now when windows and ZA restarts, check you settings, they should be what they were when you shut down. (as long as it doesn't hang or crash).
