Can someone here help me to setup proxomitron to use Artera internet accelerator? Artera did not help me, and the "reseller" did not nelp me much either.

I got this software with my new Zoom modem. Zoom calles it "ZoomIt" and they are the "reseller".

Hello Quantum_Mind,

Try this:

Open Proxomitron

Click "Proxy"

Click "Add"

Type "127.0.0.1:8081" (no quotes) in the "Enter New Proxy Server" box

Click "OK" and "OK"

Place a check in the "Use Remote Proxy" box

Click the "Save Current Config" button Smile

I tryed that and it did not work.
Artera/Zoomit puts the browser in the lan "proxy" mode and does not use CookieCop/Proxomitron first.

Artera/Zoomit seems to need the browser to proxy to Artera/Zoomit then it uses the modem.
But I need proxomitrin to be between the browser and Artera/Zoomit. {as Artera/Zoomit compresses the data and proxomitron can not be between Artera/Zoomit and the internet.

I guess that I could get into the Artera/Zoomit "*.ini" files and change how it points the browser "to CookieCop/Proxomitron" then to Artera. But I was hoping that someone else here had done that.

Also when Artera starts it changes the "modem" proxy too. {localhost:8081} so I was hoping that I could somehow get the browser to point to CookieCop/Proxomitron and then I should get proxomitron to point to "127.0.0.1:8081", but I would need to change the .ini file to do that and I was not sure what lines to change.

Should I change some of the "localhost"s to CookieCop and then the 8081 ports to the ports that CookieCop uses?

Hello Quantum_Mind,

You say "It does not work". Can you be more specific as to what does/does not happen?

Can you connect to the internet with just your browser and Artera? How do you have your browser proxy settings configured? Smile

Artera Changes the browser to use the lan proxy when artera is started "localhost:8081" and returns the settings to how I had them when Artera is "disabled" or shutdown.

It also changes the modem proxy the same time. {I tryed to use a diffrent modem "dialer" to get around it and it did not work. Either Artera would not work and proxomitron would or the other way around.

I guess I should try to change the Artera ".ini" file to get Artera to point the browser to where I want it to!

I was hoping that someelse had already done that and I would just "do what they had done".

=== Update ===
I tryed to change the ".ini" file and the browser still did not connect.

I only changed those two entrys and it changed both the browser and modem "proxy" settings to the same thing.

I did "get a hint" from them but I am not smart enought to figure it out, maybe someone here can.

Also check out this FAQ. It explains using Privoxy with another web
proxy like Squid:
http://www.privoxy.org/faq/configuration.html#OTHERPROXY

The above links are just reference material my me, it is in no way related to Zoom or any of the Zoom programs.

Have a good day.

Can somehere figure this out for me?
