|

Hello!
And let me first thank the professionals here in advance for any aid they can provide.
My system here seems to be running slow anytime I am browsing on the internet. ALOT slower than usual. I also seem to have lost the NAV icon from the system tray. I tried to reinstall NAV2003 from my SystemWorks CD but it will not. It detects a previous version already installed. But if I try to run the current installation the system does nothing. I see the hour glass momentarily appear but NAV never runs. It is not in the Applications on the taskmanager, and I can't see any instance of it in Processes. I do see the LUCOMS~1.exe process for live update running. Figuring a possible Trojan I downloaded and ran Trojan Hunter after see it listed here. It found nothing. I rebooted into Safe mode thinking it might help but another scan turned up nothing. I have tried to uninstall and clear using RegClean but still cannot get the NAV2003 program to run.
I have downloaded and run HijackThis and can provide the log if necessary. I also have my startuplist log as well.
Thanking you for helping me with my girlfriend's computer in advance ,

Welcome latte32. We need a snapshot of your running processes..........but First:
Virus=Read This: http://www.computercops.biz/postt8864.html
HiJack= Read This: http://www.computercops.biz/postt911.html
Download : HiJack This! from http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html
Create and Unzip to a folder not your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
Unzip the download (using a piece of software like: Winzip)
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log in a text file, and post it in the CCSP "Spyware - Hijack This" forum:
http://computercops.biz/forum67.html
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Hello! I did this 2 weeks ago and no one has responded yet. I posted in the Hijack this! Spyware forum and my post had 95 views as of yesterday..but no replies. I reposted in another forum to see if someone might see it there. Any suggestions as to how I could have posted this in a manner that might have gotten a better response? |

Hi Latte32, I'm sorry you've had such a long wait. Thank you for being so patient. I've put out a call for help, someone will be along as soon as they can.
