words "In God We Trust" to be on our money, then, so be it;

Yes, all these things are upsetting, however, ironically they are also a means to an end. By forgoing Christian rights, we are able to crush Muslim rights. I think it is worth the sacrifice. A secular state has much more control over religious fanatics. Look at France, they have realised that they have to forgo certain traditions in order to control the Muslims. So in this instance the social engineers have shot themselves in the foot and given the majority a weapon to fight the plague.

I can understand your frustration, however blaming the government is really the wrong way to go. Sure it is the government that enacts these policies but why? It is because of certain individuals who do not want their children saying the pledge in class or learning about religion in global studies... It is those few people who whine and complain about it until something is finally done, and since this is the land of "equal oppurtunity" our courts can't just step aside and say to deal with it or tough luck.
