|
|
I've been using ALU for years, where, every few days a little tab comes up from the system tray, saying it is updating.
For the last few months, it has stopped working; for what reason, I know not. I can still get live updates manually, but I have to remember to do it regularly and I never know when a new virus has been included.
I cannot find the reason. I've even uninstalled Norton, cleaned the registry of hundreds of keys referring to Norton and reinstalled it in a different partition.
I've checked that Task Scheduler is running and has the Symantec stuff in it with appropriate config.
System: P4 1.6 GHz 512 Mb P100 RAM, Win XP Pro, 56 kbit/s modem on COM1
Anyone any suggestions, please?
