When attempting to update my ancient IE I get the message "Ie6wzd caused a general protection fault in module GDI.EXE at 0001.0000a6f3". In the process of fixing my wtoolsa problem, my advisor told me my IE is "very outdated". Please help! Thanks. |

Thanks for the suggestion and link. However it still didn't work. I still get the ie6wzd error message about GDE.EXE. Any other thoughts? One of your guys fixed my wtoolsa problem. |

all i know somehting like GDE.EXE is a trojan :
see if you can find something with a trojan scan, see if it cleans it

Oops! In my last message I wrote "GDE.EXE" and it should have been "GDI.EXE" - something completely different. On that note, what do you suggest? Does this have something to do with my video driver or my RAM? |

good to hear its GDI and not GDE
What OS are you running ?
what IE is now installed ?
ram and GDI problems mostly occure on startup not once the system is running, but if you you have 2 ram bars try to switch them.
GDi errors can be caused by fonts missing , how strange it may sound but if you can check if you are not missing any fonts ( find a friend with the same OS as you, and check the fontfiles, the most important ones have the TTF extension)
