I have been having this problem for a while and I can't seem to find any resources to help me on the net.
When I click Tools/Internet Options, my browser closes automatically.
There are no warnings/popups or anything, it's just gone.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
I'll post a HijackThis log below in case it can help you help me!
Thanks,
Kate

I didn't see any problems with the log file although that is not my area of expertise. what version of explorer are you using? sometimes an update will solve the problem as per microsoft. You don't need a password to use explorer do you? As in parental controls?

I'm using IE6.
No password or parental controls.
It worked fine for months but then one day when I tried it, I had this problem.
Do you think I should uninstall it and reinstall it?

You should be able to install right over top the existing explorer. It is worth a try since most of un need access to the internet options. Just as a matter of preference. I am using Mozilla firefox and am very happy. Just in case you were looking for a change.
check back kate and let me know how it's workiing after the install

Hi,
I went to microsoft's website and downloaded the latest version of IE. But when I try to install it, I get a message that says that I already have a better version so the install cannot continue.
Normal? I don't think so......
What should I do next? Very Happy
