hi, i am having a problem with my pc.
i seem to have downloaded a virus that is affecting the workings of my computer. i've ran the avg virus detector and its highlighting that the computer has picked up the 'Trojan horse Downloader.Swizzor.AB' which unfortunately cannot be healed or moved to the virus vault, but its telling me the virus is contained in a file named c:\_RESTORE\TEMP\A0000597.CPY
this is bad enough but the real problem is that i cannot open any folder on my pc. the link to internet explorer still works, even tho its now passing me through a searchweb2.com website, but not much else. so i cant access the control panel folder or my computer and the like, which is stopping me from trying out some of the typical solutions ive read on this website for dealing with such viruses.

Hi cubster,
First thing to do: move HijackThis...
Save HijackThis in its own folder. Not on your desktop or not in your Temp-folder. HijackThis makes backups in the folder its running from.
Have HijackThis fix it by placing a check in the appropriate box and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

hi, thanks for the response.
i'm not too sure how to do a system restore. could someone tell me? and does that mean i lose any saved work on my pc?
here's my hijackthis log. to put it in its own folder i had to go through safe mode (otherwise i cannot open any folder as i mentioned in my first post) so i hope it still includes everything relevant.

You dind't fix anything...
Try again.
Have HijackThis fix it by placing a check in the appropriate box and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.
