slotch.com link and toolbar on the top of my browser

I have this toolbar on the top of my browser that will not go away. It has a button for home. It leads to slotch.com. Here is a copy of my hijackthis log. If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it.

Hi jefferb

a lot of nasties in there -

Download Ad-aware from here: http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-292.html
Install by double-clicking on the downloaded file.
After installing but before running, update Ad-aware by using its Globe icon.
After updating, shutdown and restart Ad-aware.
Ad-aware is ready to scan and clean your system following these steps:

Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
"Unload recognized processes during scanning."
Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Press "Scan Now"
Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
Select the active partition which is usually C:
Press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
If it finds "bad" files and registry keys, press "Next" again
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"
Press "next"
When it asks to remove all checked items, Press "OK"
Close Ad-aware, reboot your system and go on to Step 2 below.

Spybot S&D
The download for Spybot S&D is available here: http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-108.html

Install by double-clicking on the downloaded file.
Run Spybot S&D from desktop icon or Start menu.
Press "Search for updates" button to get list of updates available.
Press "Download updates" button.
Close all IE windows and close & restart Spybot S&D.
Press "Check for problems" button.
Have SpyBot remove all it marks in red by pressing "Fix selected problems".

Close Spybot S&D, reboot your system - run HijackThis again and pls. post a FRESH log. Thanks.

Hi jefferb

C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 8 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe
is NOT a good idea as the program makes backups!

How to save HijackThis in a permanent folder:
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it.

check the following items in HijackThis - close ALL windows\browsers except Hijackthis and click "Fix checked:

C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE

C:\WINDOWS\System32\yemuii.exe

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

When I try to delete the files you listed, the message says they are in use or access is denied. Also, there are four files for that twaintec.dll. I did move the Hijack this program. And I used it to fix the itmes you listed.

Is still there - How to save HijackThis in a permanent folder:
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it.

I see the Peper Trojan - go here: http://downloads.subratam.org/PeperFix.exe
reboot.

Check the following items in HIjackThis - close ALL browsers\windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked":

I did all that you said. The peperfix program did not recognize yemuii.exe. It showedup on the scan log, but it said no peper files were detected.
When I run HJT I get rid of the ones you said, but when I reboot they are back. I am also unable to delete the file yemuii.exe.
Also, when I run the HJT scan only the items preceded by O1 or O2 or things like that show up. No files like the ones at the beginning of the log that is pasted here show up on the scan. Do I have some setting wrong, or is that how it is supposed to run?

Do you see anything wrong with these ones in particular?

Yep, we still have: C:\WINDOWS\System32\yemuii.exe

Use ctrl alt del to call up task manager and end the process - does that work ?
Right click on the entry and choose end process from the menu.

How about this: go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services you might be able to stop it running so you can delete it.

Empty your Temporary Internet Files and history in Internet Options. And clean out your
%Userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp
folder. It's a good idea to do that regularly.

If yemuii.exe is still there - try this:

An alternative would be to use a proggy which will delete it on boot. MoveOnBoot is freeware: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html

I really appreciate all of your help. It looks to me like everything is taken care of. If you see that HJT is still in a temp directory, I have no idea how to change it. I am pretty sure I have it only in the C:\

HI jefferb

SUPER - great job

After something like this it is a good idea to Flush the Restore Points and start fresh.
To flush the XP system Restore Points.

Go to Start>Run and type msconfig Press enter.

When msconfig opens, click the Launch System Restore Button.
On the next page, click the System Restore Settings Link on the left.

Check the box labeled Turn off System restore.

Reboot. Go back in and Turn System Restore Back on. A new Restore Point will be created.
