Download and install Ad-aware 6. After installed, you must first update the reference file using the instructions located here: http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/updref/index.html.
Once your reference-file is updated to the latest, tweak the following settings;
Launch Ad-aware 6, Click Configurations (gear button at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine, ,make these options a green tick:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Under Scanning Engine:
"Unload recognized processes during scanning.""
Also, please check to see if you have the option "Quarantine all objects prior to removal" checked. Configurations (gear button at the top) > General Options, there is an option "Automatically Quarantine objects prior to removal", please do check it. Click Proceed, and you'll return to the main Ad-aware Screen.
Now we have to scan your System with Ad-aware:
Press "Scan Now"
- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:
Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"
If it finds "bad" files and registry keys, press "Next" again
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK. Now;
Download, and install Spybot Search And Destroy. After installed, you must first update it by pressing the "Online" button. After you've downloaded all the needed (not skins) updates, have Spybot "Check for Problems" (Search And Destory button). Fix everything Spybot labels red, then restart your computer.
Re-run HijackThis and save the new logfile. Post it here. |
