Hiyas =)
I have been using PC-cillin for several years now... and it has been very good to me so far. My version of PC-cillin 2002 is currently expired and I'm no longer recieving up-dates =/ I was curious of what some of the techs had to say about the different AV proggies out there. I read here on the forums about what some users have said about NOD32 and I thought I would check it out. It looks a bit complicated not very user friendly as far as installing and updating. Furthermore after reading the posts here, I am alot more confused on which AV to get =) Basically, I am looking for something that is light on resources, user friendly and dependable. I dont use IM's or P2P sites at all, I just use my computer for email, searches and mainly MMORPG's *cheers* I guess I am leaning towards PC-cillin 2003, but I would love to hear any feedback or suggestions. Thank you so much for your time and have a wonderful day! |

Hi Dragna!
You might give AVPE a whirl! I have used it for over two years and it's great! See this link for more info in our new AVPE/Antivir Personal Edition Forum: http://www.computercops.biz/postt43919.html
AVPE is free for personal use, provided by a German company which sells the pro version mostly to networks, although individuals can buy it now too.
Best regards

I use AVG 7 and find it to be a great antivirus program. After configuring it the way I want it I just leave it alone. Has auto update. Email scanner works with Outlook, outlook express, Thunderbird, Opera's M2 and many other clients as well. I have it run full system scan once a month and user configured scans (folder I have selected to scan) once a week.

IMO, if you've been happy with PC-cillin, I'd heavily consider staying with it. If you check around the web, Trend Micro's HouseCall is one of the most well thought of online scanners out there. HouseCall is PC-cillin online!
I use eTrust's EZ Antivirus here at home (very easy on the resources.) But at the office, the PC-cillin Internet Security pack is on a few machines and they seem to work quite well with it. If I were in the market for something different than eTrust, PC-cillin would be on my short list... |

Well I personally use AVG free edition and find that it has been working great! Just make sure you run regular updates and you'll be fine. There's also a paid version that includes technical support but I find that the free version is till good enough. |
