Hello there, i am searching for true help here
i was on-line yesterday for about 5 minutes time. After getting off line strange things happened to my PC.
The CPU usage was stuck at 100%,an Active desktop was on ,and some serious programs were inactivated.
WHAT I DID?= i downloaded from microsoft a service pack for greek xp, i downloaded sasser removal and i installed them and run them.Well....nothing!!
i scanned the PC for viruses on-line from symantec, but nothing the computer is supposedly clear. After some serious efforts i managed to inactivate the active desktop.A friend helped me with that CPU usage thing and we got it back to normal,by entering the msconfig file.
THe problem still goes on,though, in two fronts.
MY Norton INternet Security is totally inactivated and cannot do nothing about it.
Nero cannot collaborate with me, no way, cause it always fails in fixation, and therefore i cannot save files in order to format my hard drive(which i was thinking to do as a solution)
What should i do for these things? Is it the programs' fault or in my PC?

Sounds like you may have been hit with a virus... is your symantec updated with the newest virus definitions?

Yes my virus definitions are updated, ihave even tested the pc with specific removal tools like fixgoner, fixklez, fixqhost , plus i've scanned it on line through symantec's virus scanner and all of them report that the system is clear.
i ahve un- and re- install the nis,but after booting, windows xp prompt me that "if i observe malfunction of the nis in the future it's due to virus attack....." thia message even proposes a certain website for me to visit in order to get answers for action but that site just proposes what i have already done(un- and re-install the nis)
p.s. i've done it all right, i've used rnis2003
