I want to merge the registry keys from http://dougknox.com/xp/fileassoc/xp_exe_fix.zip into my registry, but something is wrong and it is not letting me merge by opening the file.

Does anyone know how to merge the file manually?

Try using a file unzipping utility to extract the REG file from the ZIP file. Smile

I'm not that stupid...

I want to know if there is a way to manually edit the registry keys to match what is in the REG file, becuase the REG file isn't opening correctly.

You could, though I'd highly recommend you make a back on your registry first just in case things turn to custard.

Alternatively check out http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/exefile.htm or http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=310585 rather than using the reg file you detailed
