A beta version of MailWasher Pro is available, this will hopefully resolve the "POP server does not appear to conform to the POP3 protocol" errors that some of you have been receiving.

If anyone wishes a download link for the beta version they can request through

mw-beta @ firetrust.com
(without the spaces)

Thanks
RD

So this isn't the next "regular" beta then?

I did send an email to mw-beta @ firetrust.com ,
but I didn't receive the new beta version yet.

For 48 hours that I am not using MailWasher - in spite of having purchased it.

This situation doesn't make any sense...

Why can't you simply provide the URL - so that we can download it, at your site or here?

I am getting 300 spam emails per day, without MailWasher!

Yes it is, though I would like to expose this version to a number of users experiencing the POP conforming error to be sure the problem is nailed.

Yes Armando I've received your 3 emails, I've also deleted the extra emails you sent to the Support Team requesting this beta.

I'll be emailing you the download link soon

I've already installed your beta version, but I still get the same error message...

This problem only started on Dec. 1st.
Why?? MailWasher was working fine in the past.

Armando

Can you send me a debug file to the above mw-beta address.

To create a debug file click on Help >> About >> enable Extended Error Logging >> restart MailWasher >> once you have generated the error/problem again restart MailWasher again >> click on Help >> About >> open the link to where MailWasher stores the data files >> there will be a file here called MailWasher_debug.txt

Thanks

After returning from vacation, MWP could only download about 100 out of my 121 email messages. No error message given, just couldn't download the rest. After processing the SPAM, I was able to get my 'friends messages' in Outlook Express. But MWP did not delete the messages from MWP. And I got another copy of the email when I tried 'receive' again in Outlook Express. Then things didn't seem to work at all - when I tried MWP again, I got the "POP server does not appear to conform to the POP3 protocol" message. The odd thing is, now I can't get ANY email messages through Outlook Express. I have not changed any of my settings. Has MWP changed some setting on my computer preventing me from receiving email from Outlook Express?

Uh, I don't think you get it - ALL my email stopped working when I received the error message "POP server does not appear to conform to the POP3 protocol" from MWP.

"you want the link you follow the steps above" is useless advice because you can't send the download link to me since I CAN"T RECEIVE ANY EMAIL. But if you POST it, I can install the corrected version of MWP.

I get it fine. If you having this same problem with your email program then the problems are larger than just MailWasher.

MailWasher canont stop your email program from downloading messages, and will not cause errors in your email program.

Are you running any other programs that might impact downloading of messages to your email program ?

MWP and Outlook Express are working now.

I changed server permission settings in ZoneAlarm (free version) from "ask" to "allow" for Common Client CC App, Outlook Express, Mail Washer, and Naviscope.

I'm still not clear on the cause and effect. I installed an upgraded version of ZoneAlarm on 11/24/03. Things were working fine. Then they stopped working.

What's odd is that I did not need to install your beta version of MWP to get rid of the ""POP server does not appear to conform to the POP3 protocol" message. In other words, when I changed the permission settings in ZoneAlarm, both Outlook Express and MWP worked fine and no longer gave that error message.

The first email message I received (once I changed my ZoneAlarm settings) was a blank email. I believe another user posted a message about problems with blank emails.

I've been getting the same message against one of the three accounts I pre-screen with MWP. I've imported the mail settings from Outlook, run them on MWP and get that POP3 error message, then run Outlook and the mail downloads fine.

Your assistance please.

I've managed to get this problem sorted out by un-installing MWP and then re-installing the new beta version.

I am not getting the error message any more!

Thanks.
