The Gator Corporation Announces Name Change to Claria Corporation -- October 30, 2003
REDWOOD CITY, CA -- October 30, 2003 -- The Gator Corporation, the leader in online behavioral marketing, today announced a corporate name change to Claria Corporation, www.claria.com. The company's popular eWallet will continue to bear the Gator name.
The company began in 1998 and launched the eWallet as its sole ad-supported software title in June 1999. Since then, the company has significantly broadened its portfolio of ad-supported software titles and developed the world's largest behavioral ad network. The Claria Corporation is now comprised of three business units:
GAIN Publishing - publishes and distributes numerous software titles and provides ad-support for some of the Web's most popular 3rd party consumer software titles, enabling users to receive software for free;
The GAIN Network - delivers behaviorally targeted online advertisements to more than 38 million subscribing consumers for over 900 online advertisers, including over 80 Fortune 1000 companies;
Feedback Research - provides online research and Web analytics through one of the world's largest marketing research panels.
When we started the company five years ago we published a single software product, a digital wallet named Gator, with which we shared a corporate name, said Jeff McFadden, President and CEO of Claria Corporation. Today, the digital wallet is only one component within just one of our company's three business units. We feel that the Claria Corporation name will allow us to better communicate the expanding breadth of offerings that we provide to consumers and advertisers.
Claria's unique value proposition to advertisers combines powerful insights into consumer behavior with the ability to identify the consumers who encompass each advertiser's target market, and deliver them contextually targeted messages. Claria's GAIN Network can deliver each advertiser's message based upon demonstrated expressions of interest in that category of products/services.
A regular top 10 online media property in the U.S. (Comscore/MediaMetrix August, 2003), Claria currently operates eight sales offices in the U.S. and Europe.
Moving forward, Claria will continue to leverage its leadership position in behavioral marketing and provide advertisers with a platform to effectively communicate one-to-one with their target audiences delivering impressive ROI for online marketing campaigns, concluded McFadden.
