Ian Thompson (Bio)
Born in the sixties; grew up in the seventies; around for the first wave of home computers in the eighties. Still got most of those I owned (including a still-to-be-built Sinclair ZX-81 kit). High school teacher in Leeds, UK. Manager of a 500-PC, 9-server, 1700-user school network in my 'spare time'. With only myself and two technicians, it gets kinda crazy. In my 'other' spare time, I've written articles for the Hutchinson Encyclopedia, plus many resources in support of teaching ICT in the UK schools' National Curriculum. I'm also a beta tester for security software, with over 15 years' experience building and supporting PCs. Former contributor to Sinclair QL World magazine, with a couple of titles still in circulation for that venerable computing platform - like the Amiga, the QL won't lay down and die, but the royalties are a bit less these days..
