Continued DDoS Woes!

We're working on getting more servers and dedicated circuits, but we're finding out this is starting to cost beyond our reach. Both Computer Cops and Nuke Cops are growing so large so fast, that the script kiddies running DDoS attacks on us and the popularity brought on by our registered members is taking us into realms that cost a lot to stay alive.

I'm basically putting out a notice to everyone, that unless I can get some sort of serious funding to continue operating then these may be the final days of the sites being in operation. The bad guys are hitting us the only way they can... in the wallet. It'd break my heart to see this place go away because growth has gone far beyond the funding at hand.

Our host told us the attack initiated on Nuke Cops, switched to Computer Cops, and went back to Nuke Cops. As of noon today, we have no additional information on the attacks. However currently, Nuke Cops has been taken offline and will be assigned a new IP in the hopes that attacks can be curbed for the short term. Nuke Cops recently released an application called Fortress™ with a pre-released version of Ban On Demand™ that protects PHP-Nuke websites from all SQL injections and bans attacks immediately. It appears Fortress™ is such a success, that both sites have been targetted -- at least, that is what timing appears to be.

The attacks appear to have started sometime Saturday, we're unsure right now. However, even though Computer Cops is currently working, we do not know if it'll continue like this since the attackers may opt to swing here again.

Insofar as uptime has been, please see the following 36 hour MRTG graphs. The first is for the mysql server, the second is for the web server. Both were taken at 8:37PM EDT.

So everyone understands what this means we will double what our allocated monthly bandwidth is. We have already told our host if we are being charged for the overage due to the DDoS to shut us down immediately, as we don't have the financing available to pay for it.

 - The self-exalted security whiz can't handle ddos. Hmmm. Rather ironic/morinic isn't it? As long as you keep living in your dream world (It appears Fortress™ is such a success, that both sites have been targetted ) you will sink. The audacity to make statements like this will be your downfall Paul. I guess when you steal other people's code/technology you have to pay the price, eh? Start living in the real world. Laughable beyond words. And btw, please post your legal authority to claim a trade-mark on the word Fortress. Just another one of your audatiuos claims. So sad little man.

It is unfortunate that someone would go through all this trouble to force a site to close out of jealousy and just plain being juvenille (on their part). I was looking forward to the release of the Ban on Demand aspect of Fortress as I had the latest Fortress.....if someone could direct us to where we could find the Ban on Demand script/module, it would be appreciated! I don't want to have to install another protection script just to ban IPs, but if I need to because Ban on Demand won't be released, then I guess I will have to.....

Keep up the good work Computer Cops Team!!!!

I do not work for these guys, but they have cheap prices for the services they offer. They are an extremely large datacenter that host many servers. Their admins WILL take care of DoS attacks on your servers, and not just let it eat at your bandwidth. Definitely worth taking a look.

I'm wondering if the attack has anything to do with Computer Cops' ongoing coverage and forum for the phishing attack (Pansal.com being a recent web site cited in the messages charging $9.95 to accounts). No other site I know of is hosting discussion of this ongoing situation. Without Computer Cops, recent victims would not have found out what is happening.
