image CyberCrime: Vulnerabilities: Intrusions in financial companies image
CyberCrime

People who have no weaknesses are terrible;
there is no way of taking advantage of them.
Anatole France (1844-1924); French writer.

- Intrusions in financial companies -
Oxygen3 24h-365d, by Panda Software (http://www.pandasoftware.com)

Madrid, May 21, 2004 - According to vnunet at
http://www.vnunet.com/News/1155258 , there were many successful intrusion
attacks on financial institutions last year.

According to the Global Security Survey carried out by Deloitte, many of
the intrusions on financial institutions caused financial losses. However,
although attacks are on the increase, one in four companies said that their
IT security budgets were frozen.

Eighty-three percent of respondents admitted that their systems had been
compromised during the last year, a much higher figure than that of the
previous year (39%). Of those, some 40 percent confirmed that the security
problems entailed financial losses for the organization.

More than 70 percent of those surveyed said that the greatest threat to
their systems in the next 12 months would be viruses and worms. However, the
number of companies with completely functional antivirus solutions has
dropped from 96 percent to 87 percent now.
