Web Servers
I was browsing around a little today and noticed an article at BroadBandReports that led me to C|Net where Stefanie Olsen writes about statistics and experiences with free pop-up blockers. It didn't take long at all to realize that one of my systems which doesn't run Proxomitron makes use of the Google Toolbar. It does indeed miss some pop-ups, where as a few months ago it caught everything.

Now the interesting aspect to this story is that Microsoft will be releasing a pop-up blocker with Internet Explorer later this summer. Stefanie states that 9 in 10 people use IE, which means this could present a problem to advertisers relying on pop-ups.

I don't know, maybe its time for me to kick-off the old and dusty ZXList again. This time I'd like to offer a set of filters that are slim yet mean and powerful. JD5000 has kept his filter list up-to-date. We have a forum for his filter support on site. Proxomitron, a powerful application by Scott Lemmon which has been discontinued but still works wonders.
