If you've been infected, it may seem near impossible to fix due to these complex variants. We will try and keep the most current version available here. There is an internal updater in the program that can check for and provide the most current version, as well. Updated: * Updated for new CWS.Msole variant (hijacks to payfortraffic.net, uses msole.dll BHO) * Added a few more things from CWS.Aboutblank, which started hijacking to freednshost.info as well. CWShredder should now properly remove it from infected systems, instead of removing it once, then have it return on a system reboot. The CWS.Searchx variant is the cause of all the about:blank hijacks reports lately that are not CWS.Xmlmimefilter. I should've just called it the CWS.Xmlmimefilter.2 but it does a few things more/better than Xmlmimefilter that made me decide it should be a new. Starting at v1.55, CWShredder has an option on the first screen (enabled by default) to delete any files to the Recycle Bin. This should also aid Spybot S&D, Ad- Aware and any other antispyware programs in getting samples of CWS files. Files that cannot be removed from memory (CWS.Msconfd, CWS.Smartfinder) without rebooting are not moved to the Recycle Bin for technical reasons.
