Magnus....recently had the first ever freeze up.....full scan with all advanced checked......no other apps running and I have 850PIII-784mg ram........w98se .......w/ie6 sp1 nsyswks 2k2 (nav running) za 2.6.362 firewall running......screen saver was enabled

Here's is another idea(from siliconman)

I think the first thing to as the user to check is to see if running a disk checkup shows anything.
/chkdsk /r /f

Then see if any new programs have been added. It's possible that a large file has been added that is packed and TH is scanning it. Sometimes these can take a while and the scanner looks like it is frozen.

only did it the one time.....the packed files were adobe acrobat 6
x2
claire had a point.......maybe it wasn't done and I thought it was......

It could be it was just taking a very long time to unpack the file. You can add the file to the ignore list if this continues to happen.
