I am considering purchasing Benign. I have a pop3 and hotmail account but the blurb on Benign suggests it only works for pop3s. Is this the case?
Also I have read other questions regarding conflicts (or the lack of) with Avast and AVG. I have AVG at the moment but am looking for something better and quite like the look of Panda's Titanium 2004 - are there any known conflicts? Thanks in advance for any advice.

To use B9 with hotmail just install Hotmail Popper and proxy the B9 proxy to the Hotmail server. You end with:
Client <> B9 <> Hotmail Popper <> Hotmail.
Re: AVG vs Titanium 2004 what do you like about the latter that the former doesn't have?

Thanks Ikeb, your words are a foreign language to me at the moment but I will investigate B9 and, hopefully, understand
As for AVG vs Any other AV - I don't really know, I just don't feel that AVG is doing it's best. I've had a lot of problems lately thanks to a son who thinks he can go anywhere and download anything without a care in the world. This I could handle if I hadn't recently installed XP. I'm struggling to get comfortable with it and my paranoia's rising.
Panda's online scan detected two infected files the other day that AVG had supposedly healed (well it had healed one but didn't detect the other). Whether this is down to system restore or AVG, I don't know. I'm getting tired of battling this thing.
I'm beginning to see why people think it's easier to reformat

So you don't have B9 running then? I'd recommend you get it working with a POP3 client first, then install the Hotmail Popper proxy and configure B9 for the Hotmail account. You'll have to do some config at your client (easy), you may have to configure a loopback address at Hotmail Popper (easy if you understand IP addresses, specifically use of the loopback address), and finally, B9 (easy once you have Hotmail Popper figured out). You may need some help when you get to that point. I'll watch this topic.

know its off topic, but I would recommend Avast over Panda - friend says it made his machine real slow. Avast is fast and updates are nearly daily
