Evil or Very Mad My aol keeps locking up,,I have been running AOL.9.0 and have Windows XP professional. When I try to use AOL now,,to uninstall,,reinstall,,what ever,, it locks up. I look at process' running and find acsd.exe ramping up in size. It keeps climbing,,and my processor is showing 100% usage. Everything slows way down. If I can close aol...it keeps being slow. If I go into the Windows Task Manager and close the acsd.exe file,,everything works fine.
Can anyone help?? PLEASE!!!!

You are killing the process, which seems to solve the problem. What more do you want? To be able to use AOL, maybe? It's not really clear.

I am unable to kill wanmpsvc.exe at all right now. I think that may result from a recent AOL forced update to AOL 9.

What is the status of wanmpsvc on your machine?

Have you dried an AOL install from the original media, right over the original media? I like doing that to AOL, or used to... It's been a while since I tried it.
