We are using McAfee 4.0.4354 home addition. It detected infamous.exe in the syst files. We were able to get rid of that in dos. Some 12 hours later another warning with the following file path:
C:\SystemVolumeInformation\_restore{B82F91A0-CB63-46D5-9C29-5DB0F3C1119D}\RP43\A0007803.exe\000166bo.EXE
Spybot search and destroy doesnt find it. We cant find it. McAfee cant delete, quarantine, or clean it. Even pressing stop requires 4 to 5 tries. Our DAT files are up to date.
The only recent malfunction has been a stutter in hearts, and a "memory full" message that resovled on reboot.
We dont have a bridge.dll file.

Can ya'll help get rid of this tenatious trojan? I have been unable to find help for this elsewhere.
Thanks

Hi sv_independence, it looks like System Restore is showing up the infected file. It might be a good idea to Flush the Restore Points and start fresh.

ME flush
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ts...ec_doc_nam

To flush the XP system Restore Points.

Go to Start>Run and type msconfig Press enter.

When msconfig opens, click the Launch System Restore Button.
On the next page, click the System Restore Settings Link on the left.

Check the box labeled Turn off System restore on all Drives.

Reboot. Go back in and Turn System Restore Back on. A new Restore Point will be created.
