Computer Cops Reveal Your IP
Your real IP: 146.101.66.159
Your browser: Other
Your Operating System: Other

Not even close... 146.101.66.159 is a proxy I'm connected to via WebWasher. Apparently, this even fools Steve Gibson's supposedly 'fool-proof' method of requiring a secure connection prior to testing to see if your ports are open or not.

Of course, I've gone to great lengths to secure this machine... I'm double-proxy'd, NAT'd, and double-firewalled, with several commonly insecure UDP/TCP ports redirected into the ether to thwart hack attempts. The most common method of truly discovering someone's IP address (via a Java applet hidden on the web page) is thwarted, because I run the IE Internet Zone with Java disabled (I put trusted sites into my Trusted Zone, with security settings similar to the Internet Zone but with Java enabled). I have, of course, locked down the machine in every way conceivable.

Why did I do all this? Because I fight spammers with this machine, and I've had run-ins with them before... they are not nice people, and won't hesitate to hack you. They especially hate me, I've gotten so many of their websites shut down that no spammer sends me spam anymore. I'm kind of brutal to them. Twisted Evil

Anyway, if anyone wants help in configuring their machines to be both anonymous and highly secure, let me know.

So then, what are you saying??...

that the program still needs work (as per your subject heading)

or are you trying to advertise your abilities?

(in which case it would be a variant on the spamming theme, but then you can correct me if I am wrong) Wink

cheers

I used the Reveal your IP and the IP it came up with doesn't even seem to be close, except for the very first number. I don't know what IP it came up with, but I do go through a proxy and I do have a firewall on my computer separate from my server. I know my computer isn't the most secure in the world-my firewall detects attempted but blocked attacks almost daily. Any feedback on this? Smile
