For the past couple of days, after i connect to the internet after a while I get one of those illegal operation things telling me that my LSA shell needs to shut down. After I press ok it gives me a message saying my computer will restart in a minute. I find this really, really annoying and since I know almost nothing about Windows XP i would really appreciate it if someone could help me out with this problem. |

What a mess ! If you go to Norton AV's page (on someone else's computer, cause yours is screwed up) (www.symantec.com/avcenter) you will see info about a new treat called the W32.sasser worm, that behaves just as you described. Microsoft has a bug in XP that allows a virus to spread by checking for open ports on computers. You need to get zone alarm, update your virus defs, possibly get the removal tool from symantec, and especially, get the critical update/patch from Microsoft.
What til tomorrow, everyone I know with XP has it tonight!!!!!!!!! |
