|
|
Does anybody know if the free version of Zone Alarm can be configured to allow 2 pc's to share an internet connection?
I have 2 pc's both running XP home and both with zone alaram free version. My main pc is connected to the internet via a cable modem. I have 2 nic's in the main pc...one is connected to the cable modem and the other connected to the 2nd pc's nic via a category 5e crossover cable.
I have added each pc's ip address to the trusted zone in zone alarm and am able to file share etc between the 2 pc's but I cannot get access to the internet from the 2nd pc. I have enabled ICS on the cable modem LAN connection and can see the internet gateway on the 2nd pc. Internet works fine on the main pc.
I cannot ping the 2nd pc from the main pc and vice versa.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks. |

Only the plus and Pro versions support ICS. Yu can lower your internet security to medium (not recomeded) or get a router, or some people have been able to run a proxy server on the gateway machine, and let the client surf thru the proxy.
