i have had to make some changes of my own here too.
i appreciate the generosity of the people at firetrust.
especially a lady named ROSE H.
she sent me a mailwasher license number for the mailwasher pro, but it is too much for me to keep on top of so i had to un-install it.
i wish i could pass on the license to someone that wants it.
do you know how to do that?
do you know a worthy recipient?
and i 've had to turn off the spamassassin at the ISP because i was losing mail to false positives.
nothing like losing mail from people that i want to hear from, you understand right?
and the nice program that i won on the free give away is troublesome too, that one is also from firetrust,it's called benign.
so i had to kill that one too with my eraser.
and as soon as i got that off of the harddrive my mail started coming through.
i wish i could find a person to give that to also.
right now i'm dealing with spam the old fashioned way, using the delete function.
at least i'm sure that i don't miss anything that i'm looking for.
i'm surprised at how much the spam assassin was catching though, i'm forwarding too many pieces of spam to .
and it takes me about 15 minutes each morning just to deal with that alone.
not to mention the amount that hits randomly during the day.
i'm hoping that the congress can do something about a spam law.
i know that it has pissed-off my congressman,GREG WALDEN, BECAUSE HE SENT OUT AN EMAIL TO ALL OF US THAT HAVE PC'S AND SAID THAT HE WASN'T GOING TO ACCEPT ANYMORE EMAIL THROUGH THE REGULAR CHANNELS.
AND HE SENT A LINK TO HIS WEBSITE TO LET US SEND HIM MESSAGES.

So you spent more time keeping on top of it than you now spend weeding through your inbox?

You could offer it to Paul as the start of another giveaway....

Absolutely! False positives I watch like a hawk! Haven't had one in over 6000 msgs ... unless I missed it of course...

B9 must be configed properly or it will prevent msgs from getting through. Post symptoms at the B9 forum and I and others will attempt to guide you through it.

OK, I can appreciate that's a lot of work. Why not just cut back and report to FA! and/or SpamCop. Will probably do more good than sending to the ftc.

i don't know how you got spamassassin to work for you.
i could never get it right.
and i like the idea of having something that works like benign is supposed to.
but it has to be easy and not something that i have to keep checking on to see if it is doing ok.
and i did send off an email to paul after i sent a message to you about what to do with these two license numbers.
i'm waiting to hear from him.

I don't use SpamAssassin. My ISP wanted me to pay for it so I told them to go get stuffed. My comment at that point only relates to false positives.

B9 is so benign I never pay attention to it other than the monthly(?) status repost.

TMOV, you can throw my name in the hat for the mailwasher license if it has to go that way. I also had to scrap my b9 that I won in the prize giveaway, just couldn't get it to work continously.
I also have a b9 registration that was not used as the software never worked properly, I did not bother to register it.

I never noticed any post from you over at the Benign - troubleshooting forum, wandrinstar. What's the nature of the problem you're having?

Hello Ikeb, I really had a few problems. First one was I was unable to d/load b9. It said my security wouldn't allow d/load. I made every adjustment available in Internet Options inc. adding b9 to Trusted Zone.
There was no way it was coming in.
Eventually Hamish sent me b9 as attachment. It just wouldn't work properly. He sent me another beta version and still no joy. It installed OK
but it wouldn't work properly either. The interest faded and eventually Hamish give up also.
Some threads I started, there may be contributions made to other threads.
