I am already aware of the AdBlock extension http://AdBlock.mozdev.org but it's nowhere near as powerful as proxomitron. When will proxomitron be released as a mozilla (firefox) extension? Wink

Why? The beauty is that it's browser independent...

1) Micro$oft Internet Explorer sucks.
2) As a MozDev project it would be open source. Not only would it live on forever, but it would get better with age.
3) It's current incarnation will continue to be browser independent.

* I realize people use browsers other than IE and gecko.
** "sucks" is a simple, albeit mildly crass, summation of bloated security nightmare among other pejoratives

As much as most of us like to see Proxomitron open source, the idea is purely hypothetical since Proxomitron is closed source and the author stopped developing/supporting it a year ago.

Not even Gecko - extensions/add-ons are XUL only.
