Hi guys, yesterday I installed an ethernet card on my PC, which is running 98SE. After making all the necessary changes and installing all the missing pieces, I connected it to my laptop, and all worked well.
Then I rebooted the PC and problems started. First, VSMON claimed to have encountered an error and closed down. Second, IE6 encountered a problem as well, and gave me a window that said it had to close down, and if I wanted to send an error report to Microsoft.
I thought it might be a conflict between ZAP and the network changes I made, so I shut off the firewall. The VSMON error disappeared (of course), but IE6 keeps giving the same error.

Any ideas? I already tried reinstalling IE, de-installing and re-installing the Windows Internet Access parts, but so far no good.

O yes, I tried Opera too. It doesn’t close like IE, but says it can’t find any website.

I would like to avoid reinstalling the whole machine from scratch (done that so many times already) Crying or Very sad .

Thx in advance

I formatted my HD and re-installed everything. I even made 2 partitions this time (a bit late, i know...).
Now everything works fine, I can access the internet again without any problems.
The only problem is that I can't access my network anymore. In fact, during installation windows didn't ask for any drivers for the ethernet card as it did when i put the card in the machine. When I try to update the driver, it says there's already a better one installed and refuses to install the one I want.

I realize this is getting rather off-topic (has got nothing to do with browsers anymore), but if anyone has got an idea, I would be glad to hear it.
