Slide on over to didtheyreadit.com and check out this email tracking service that's been making news lately.
There's a free account you can sign up for that lets you use the service five times in one month. I tried it and it works. I didn't have much time to devote to it last night and won't be able to get to it some more until next weekend.
However I did make two observations:
1) Checking my mail first with Mailwasher pro did not "phone home" to didtheyreadit.com.
2) When I checked my mail with Outlook (not Express), it did "phone home" but Zone Alarm privacy (which I have set for Outlook with all the highest settings) did alert that cookies were being blocked.
I plan on making some more tests while watching ports and sniffing packets.
More later, I hope. Feel free to pitch in.
(I did a search here on "didtheyreadit" with no hits. Sorry if I'm opening a new topic on old business.)
