|
|
Hallo,
i try to install same programs but it is impossible because they have .cab files and WinZip canot open .cab files. When i try to open a .cab file i get the message: WinZip cannot open xxx.cab file because it is not the standard Microsoft format (as defined in mid-1998).The "signature bytes"required by the Microsot CAB specification are missing.
If someone knows a solution PLEASE send me an e-mail.
THANKS in advance.

|
|
Hallo, Wawadave,
thanks for the interest. I tried to open the .cab files with ALZip but
unfortunutely it gave me the message that the files are in an unknown
format. The same happened with winrar and some other programs.
The initial problem is that I try to install some programs but the setup program gives me the message: cannot find setup.exe or one of its componenents. I search the location and I find setup.exe and three(.cab)
files, so I assume that the files missing are in the .cab files. Then I try to open the .cab files and indeed they do not open.
The strange thing is that in my other computer which also runs WinXP
the same programs are installed and the same .cab files can be opened
with the same version of WinZip.Its a mystery.
Best Regards. |
