|
|
Hi,
Looking at task manager in Win XP has made me think there must be a mess of processes running that maybe shouldn't be and are slowing my system down. Can anyone point me to where I can find what things I can "end process" on so that I can run faster. I have tried end it all and other programs but here must be something else as these don't seem to do enough.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
MAX |

You are correct about that. An easy way of disabling the unwanted processes that are running in the background is to hit START>RUN, type in msconfig in the box , SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY WINDOW should come up, CLICK ON THE STARTUP TAB then from there you would see all the applications that are running in the background, some items you would need but most of them are just garbage and you can uncheck them. To be sure that you are disabling the ones that you do not need, you can visit this website http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
you can search for the file and it would tell you whether you need the startup item or not.
Hope this helps you out. Take it easy! |
